What is IVN?
IVN is an organisation aimed to spread the notion of environmental protection and to promote environmental awareness by organising a wide range of educational activities

What does IVN do?

  • Educational work on nature and the environment;
  • Activities: walking tours with specially trained guides, school projects, exhibitions, activities for youth and a range of different courses;
  • Other projects in which IVN local branches are involved focus on nearby areas where flora and fauna are threatened with extinction; nesting box projects; management of botanical gardens and threatened wildlife areas;
  • Provision of environmental education in - and outside schools in co-operation with e.g. community centres and children's- or city-farms and zoos;
  • IVN local groups participate in policy in partnership with for instance municipalities and water boards;
  • A professional staff develops methods, training programmes, projects and materials to support professional workers, government bodies, volunteers and others working in the field of nature and environmental education;
  • Publication of a wide range of environmental educational books, brochures, posters, etc.
