What is the Prince Bernard Chair for International Nature Conservation?
The chair is part of the University of Utrecht and initiates research, training and extension programmes within a development perspective; develops the curriculum within the university, meeting the demands of the professional field and integrates accumulated knowledge and disseminate this to the professional field.
What does PBC do?
- International nature conservation within a development perspective. Major topics: sustainable exploitation of forest and tree resources and conservation of biodiversity. Several projects have been established in this field in Guyana, Bolivia, Indonesia, Zimbabwe, China, and Mexico;
- Foster and facilitate research and education programmes in collaboration with scientific partners throughout the world.
