Commission on Education and Communication (CEC)
The IUCN Commission on Education and Communication (CEC) champions the strategic use of communication and education to empower and educate stakeholders for the sustainable use of natural resources.
More than 600 members volunteer their professional expertise in learning, knowledge management and strategic communication to achieve IUCN goals.
Mission
To champion the strategic use of communication and education, and provide leadership in creating an institutional focus for learning which will help to influence, encourage and assist societies throughout the world to conserve the integrity and diversity of nature and ensure that any use of natural resources is equitable and ecologically sustainable.
CEC members participate in three working groups:
• World Conservation Learning Network
• Education for Sustainable Development
• Strategic Communication
